Luca Marinelli’s a Shooting Star!

The European Film Promotion has announced this year’s 10 “Shooting Stars” and Italian actor Luca Marinelli is on the list.

Marinelli, 28, starred in movies like Saverio Costanzo’s  La Solitudine Dei Numeri Primi, and Paolo Virzì’s Tutti i Santi Giorni.

Every year an international jury of industry professionals choose young actors on the basis of their work and their career potential. The jury defined this year’s list of the ten actors as “a perfect mix between astonishing newcomers and talents we had already seen before, but who have taken their careers to a new level this year…Our final choice will cast the spotlight on true artists who deserve this exposure. We are very curious to see how their careers develop in the future.”

The Shooting Stars will receive their awards and be part of the next Berlinale, Berlin’s annual film festival.

Former Shooting Stars include Daniel Craig, Carey Mulligan, and Marinelli’s co-star in La Solitudine Dei Numeri Primi, Alba Rohrwacher.
